Funny video from back in the day

I came across this short video of the girls from several months back. I heard them playing in the room and got excited b/c I realized that we were starting to phase into being able to play together without mommy having to be there, too. So, I ran and got the camera and peeked in....and this is what proceeded to happen.

So started looking through pictures from the last YEAR and was overwhelmed with all the fun happenings they all represented. I decided to start with this picture of Josie from last summer. Josie, Kaiya, and I flew out to Boulder to visit Amanda and her clan. Josie LOVES her cousins so much. She talks about them everyday....no joke. This picture is funny to me because we took the kids to a "fair." This "ride" was $5 for about 2 minutes. Parker and Will really wanted to do it, so Josie decided she did as well. Josie NORMALLY would freak at the thought of doing anything remotely close to this, so I discouraged her from the "I wanna do it" bandwagon b/c I knew that she holds special place in Uncle Chris' heart and he would pay any amount of money to see her get a thrill like this. My fear was that he would pay this money, then when it was her turn she would panic and the expensive ride would be wasted. Well, little faith I had in my girl. She barely passed the weight limit and the nice guys running the ride were highly impressed with her bravery.

Has it really been a year and a half since my last post?!

It is an understatement that I am really bad at blogging (more like journaling to me) updates about our life. I seriously need to recommit to keeping this updated. SO MUCH has happened in the last 8 months and over the next few blogs I will attempt to go back in time and tell the story of God's sovereignty over our family. For now, I just want to posts some recent pics from Easter and other fun times.

Halloween fun!

If you can't tell by the picture, this year Josie was a pink poodle and Kaiya was a pea in a pod. The costume on Kaiya was borrowed and Josie still isn't quite at the age that she would want to be some sort of character. So, I found the costume at Old Navy for $5. I also had some friends come over with their kids for pizza and play time. We did it last year and I figured I would just make it a tradition. It was quite the scene trying to get all the kids on or by the couch for a picture. They did surprisingly well!!

Day to day happenings

Josie wanted to show Parker and Will her fun hairdo and how she can brush her teeth all by herself. I will have to say that it was so fun doing her hair. She doesn't let me do that very often, so I sulked in it as long as I could! Hopefully as time goes by she will want me to do her hair more often. Tonight, I am extremely proud of my girls! Lil Kaiya, transitioned from the Amby to the crib today. She fussed for about 20 minutes altogether late this afternoon with me going in every couple of minutes to let her know everything is okay. She only slept for about 15 minutes. I thought that was a pretty good start to a hard transition. THEN- tonight, I put her down and she was asleep within 5 minutes. She woke up about 30 minutes later with a loud cry. Just as I was about to go in to try to soothe her.....she fell back asleep!! I still am amazed...

Me and my sis!!

In the last few weeks, Kaiya has really become vocal and entertaining! Josie loves singing and talking to her. With her eyes, Kaiya follows Josie around the house as Josie is busy dancing, singing, playing with dolls, etc. Every time Kaiya is fussing and Josie is around, Josie will come to her and kiss her on the head or pat her tummy and Kaiya immediately stops crying and stares at Josie and often times starts smiling. She loves her big sis so much already!!

I can drive and I am only 2!

I found this little car through a friend for a really good deal. It has a brand new battery and as you will see it goes pretty fast. (Josie did not go over the curb by the way).
